Maximo Park (Feb 24, 2013)

Maximo Park (https://www.facebook.com/maximopark) is one of the best British bands I've heard in a long time. Their modern rock sound is interesting and intelligent and their latest album (The National Health) can be enjoyed on many levels. It sounds great the first time through but the more you listen to it the more you hear.  Go find out for yourself as the album is streaming online at: http://maximopark.com/index.php.

Have a great week and enjoy the music!

Fiction Family (Feb 17, 2013)

Fiction Family (http://www.fictionfamily.com/) is an incredible collaboration by Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek (an all time favorite) and Jon Foreman of Switchfoot.  Their brand new album "Fiction Family Reunion" is a quirky and intellegent fusion of acoustic, country, folk and rock.  Great songs, great muscians and great vocals.  Everything I could want in a great album! One of those great groups that just doesn't sound like anyone else out there right now.

Have a great week and enjoy the music!

Teammate (February 10, 2013)

TeamMate released their first song, "Sequel" back in October and I was impressed - but was waiting for me.  Well, now I've got it and I want to share it with you!  After a great holiday song and video "I Won't Be Home For Chanukah" they've now released their second song and lyric video for "Girls With Boys' Names" (http://youtu.be/okQS7sap2O0) and I am hooked! Their fun style of electronic pop is so catchy and clever. I can't wait to see what they do next but for now I am going to have these songs on repeat for quite some time!  Go give them a listen for yourself!

Have a great week and enjoy the music!

Justin McMahon (February 3, 2013)

Justin McMahon's most recent release, "Second Chances and Irreparable Mistakes," is one of those special albums that you'll be glad to have heard before anyone else.  Justin is a rare musician who is both a poet and a singer, a story teller and a guitar player.  I love this album and was first sucked in by the brilliant song "Time Capsule." I have yet to see him live but based on what I've heard, it's clear that this is an artist who is incredible on stage whether he's with a full band or it's just him and his guitar. A true talent!!

Go give him a listen! And be sure to follow @emergemusic on Twitter - this is #FollowMeFebruary and we're trying to build up our twitter base.  Every day, all month, we're revisiting a previously featured Emerge artist going all the way back to 2007!

Have a great week and enjoy the music!
