The Static (October 28, 2012)

I am SO excited that the debut EP from The Static (https://www.facebook.com/TheStaticOfficial) is finally here!  "While The Night Is Young" has everything I'm looking for in a good album.  It immediately pulls you in with a gentle, easy going beginning and then before you know it the music kicks into high gear and you're hooked for good.  The Static have provided an incredible soundtrack for a great Saturday night party. Go give it a listen and if they are coming to your town check them out live - they put on a FUN live show!

Have a great week and enjoy the music!

The Rebecca West (October 21, 2012)

The Rebecca West (https://www.facebook.com/therebeccawest) does not, ironically, have anyone with that name in the band (it's named for one of their favorite authors).  What they do have is an incredible modern folk/country/Americana sound full of great male/female harmonies, excellent musicianship and terrific songs.  If you enjoy bands such as The Rescues and Eddie from Ohio you will very likely enjoy this band.  If you don't know who any of those groups are check them out but be sure to check out The Rebecca West and their brand new debut album  "Lost and Found." You can even get one song for free at https://www.noisetrade.com/therebeccawest.

Have a great week and enjoy the music!

Cris Cab (October 14, 2012)

Cris Cab (https://www.facebook.com/CrisCabMusic) has more followers than most of the artists I feature but is still relatively unknown which is a shame because this guy is amazing and I have a feeling he won't be be flying under the radar for much longer.  His music shows the best of today's pop scene - it's interesting and entertaining, features singing and rapping, live instruments and samples/beats, etc.  Check out his brand new EP "Rise" which just came out last week. And go grab his free mix tape "Echo Boom" (http://soundcloud.com/cris-cab/sets/echo-boom-1) which is phenomenal.

Have a great week and enjoy the music!

Sooner the Sunset (October 7, 2012)

Sooner the Sunset (https://www.facebook.com/SoonerTheSunset) is a side project of singer songwriters Graham Colton and Lindsey Ray and what a great project it is.  When they released their first song "All Because Of You" I thought this was going to be a fun escape from their pop backgrounds and a straight forward country album.  But now that the full EP is out they have done so much more as each song pulls from a different style of music and each one is so good.  "Mark Set Go" is a wonderful duet that really shows the strength of each of them as singer/songwriters.  "Love is Landing" has a sullen/moody feel to it that is rich and warm.  "Long After I'm Gone" has a definite country flair to it. "Helium Heart" is a gentle and simple (and gorgeous) ballad. It may only be 5 songs but it's 5 outstanding songs and worth checking out!

Have a great week and enjoy the music,
Ira
